Tempatures are suppost to be in the upper 70's, but the action will be hotter. We will have the 1st 50 lap race of the Best of the Best series in the Super Street class and a 75 lap Late Model Race for $1,000.00 to the winner. It will be a dash for the cash event featuring last years 75 lap 4th of July winner J.R. Robinson, Spud 150 winner Austin Theriault, local legend Johnny Albair, and more. There is sure to be great racing in all divisions and action you don't want to miss. So make this Mermorial Day full of excitement and action at Spud Speedway in Caribou. Gate opens at 12:00, racing at 1:00, and the pits open at 9:00.spud speedway Season Opener this Sunday!last updated on 5/23/2011This Sunday will mark the 2011 season opening race and it will feature 2 great races for one low price. For only $10.00 folks will get 2 great races in one great show. First up is the first round of the Coca Cola Super Streets Best of the Best 3 race series. There will be three 50 lap races this season to determine who is the best driver at the 50 lap races. Not only will the drivers get points and pay for their weekly event, they will also be getting points for the Best of the Best series where they will be fighting it out for an additional $500.00 to the winner and the most important thing is a huge trophy and bragging rights for the rest of the year. Then look out for the Late model sportsman division to go after it for 75 laps in a dash for the cash style race. A $1,000.00 check is up for grabs to the winner at the end of this race as well as points towards the championship at the end of the year. New comer to the division, Connor Thibeau will look to race against his old Young Gun rival, Austin Theriault as he makes his return to his hometown track. Austin will be bringing a few new friends from downstate as well to the races with him. We also are looking forward to the Clukey's Auto Parts Fast Fours division to see how Rick Saucier's new 2008 Honda Civic matches up against all of the new comptition in that division. Hogan Tire Street Stocks, Northern Lights, and Young Guns will all be on the race card as well. Action starts at 1:00 and the pits open at 9:00 on Sunday. Motorsports Show This Weekendlast updated on 5/18/2011The 1st event of the season is here this weekend as we get everyone to gether to show off all of their hardwork before it hits the track next weekend. The show will be filled with things for the kids to do, the Maine Motorsports Museum, great videos from the past, Sponsors displays, and lots of great looking race cars. Don't forget that we will be selling season passes for a discounted price and we will also have all of the new Spud Speedway merchandise. Drivers we will be loading into the forum on Friday from 1:30 to 8:00 and the show will be on Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 10-3. This event is worth 25 points and we will award trophies for the best looking car in each class plus a best of show award. We look forward to seeing everyone there. Season Passes On Sale at the Motorsports Showlast updated on 5/14/2011Season passes for the 2011 season will be on sale at the Motorsports show next weekend. They will have a special price of only $130.00 for the grandstands and $260.00 for the pits. This includes all 14 race events (concert is not included in season passes. Get your tickets right here online for only $10.00 Season Opener Just Got Biggerlast updated on 5/8/2025The season opener race on May 29th just got a bit bigger as we have added a 75 lap Late Model Sportsman Race to the days events. We have gotten some calls of interest from drivers all over the state looking for us to host a longer race so we added it to an already great day of racing. The opener race weekend will also have the first race of the Best of the Best 3 race series for our Coca Cola Super Street Series. These are 3 special 50 lap races that will have their own points system and extra purse money that will be above and beyond the weekly payouts. We can't forget all of the other series action that will take place in the Northern Lights, Young Guns, Street Stocks, and Fast Fours divisions as well. With all of the cars shined up and tuned up ready to go it should be another great day of racing at Spud Speedway. Race Tires are In Stocklast updated on 5/5/2025This years supply of tires arrived today and are at Haney's Building Specialties in Caribou. Racer's feel free to stop by and get the best choice of sizes. This year we have a full line up of American Racer tires for Fast Fours, Super Streets, and Late Model Sportsmans. Haney's is open Monday through Friday 8-5 or call me to come over any other time. Thanks 2nd Annual Motor Sports Show Coming Soonlast updated on 5/4/2025Spud Speedway is sure to start the season out with a bang at the 2nd Annual Motor Sports Show at the Forum in Presque Isle. The show will take place on Saturday, May 21st 10 am to 6 pm and on Sunday, May 22nd at 10 am to 3 pm. Admission is only $3.00 or you can get free admission if you buy a Feed the County Summerfest ticket at the show. We will be collecting food for the Catholic Charities food banks so be sure to bring in a food donation for a neighbor in need. The show will highlight all of the different things that fans will get to see at the track for the upcoming season as well as displays from our many sponsors. All race cars from all divisions will be there to show off their winters work, it's sure to give the fans and driver's a chance to meet and interact with each other. One of the highlights of this years show will be the Maine Motorsports Traveling Museum will be on hand for fans to enjoy. Be sure to stop in a see all of the historic items from race track all throughout Maine. We will have items from the 60’s and 70’s from right here at Spud Speedway on display. Videos from the 1st ever Firecraker 100 in 1991 will be shown all day long and we will have some Spud Speedway legends on hand for meet and greets. Be sure to keep an eye out for a list of former racers to be at the show. Also new this year will be a kid’s competition area. Bring the kids by to take part in the pedal tractor pulls, pedal tractor races, bouncy house and more brought to us by the American Red Cross. We will also be hosting the Aroostook Radio Controlled Car club for a racing display which is sure to be exciting. Also a quick note to anyone wanting to display anything in this show should contact us right away. All drivers’ who display their car at the show will receive a 25 bonus points towards the season championship. This will be considered the 1st competition event of the season for all drivers as we will have a best looking car contest in each division. You do not have to stay with your car for the show all though it is recommended to be there some of the time to meet your fans and sponsors. Please be sure to register your car with me for the show by emailing me at thaney@maine.rr.com $2500 150 Lap Bomber Race Setlast updated on 5/1/2025Sunday, June 5th will be a busy day at Spud Speedway as 75 bomber cars will set out to take 1st place and win the $2500.00 winner takes all purse. Drivers from all over will enter this race to try and take the top spot in the biggest bomber race of the year. Preregistration forms and rules can be found on our website und the drivers tab. The 1st 50 drivers to preregister will be locked into a starting spot. All others will have to race in a qualifying race if more than 75 cars show up.Also a regular card of racing will take place in our Northern Lights, Fast Fours, Street Stock, Super Streets, and Young Guns divisions.
