$1000 Bomber Race for the County!

last updated on 7/1/2014

Attention all bomber racers, Thursday night, July 10th you have a chance to help us kick off the biggest celebration Spud Speedway has ever seen as we celebrate 50 years of door to door racing! We will be having a 100 lap bomber race for $1000.00 to win, 2nd place $500, and $250 for 3rd! Now this is no ordinary bomber race, this is the Pink & Blue Race for the County. We will be raising money for Pink Aroostook Breast Cancer Support group and the Aroostook Autism group as well. Racers we need your help to raise money for these two great causes. Please download the lap sponsor sheet at the following link http://spud-speedway.com/articles/0pink___blue_sponsor_sheets.pdf and get people to sponsor a lap for any amount at all. We hope each race can get at least $50.00 sponsored as that is only 50 cents per lap! Together we can make a difference for your friends and family right here in the County as the money all stays local! As an additional bonus, I will give the racer that raises the most money $250 as a prize for helping us with these 2 great causes. So get out, have fun, and race! This race is sponsored and made possible by Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services in Caribou.

Season Opener Tonight!

last updated on 6/21/2014

Make plans to be at the Speedway's 1st race of the 50th Anniversary Season tonight. The gate opens at 6pm and it only costs $5.00 to get into the grandstands! No better entertainment anywhere for the price. Be sure to check out all of the action as local favorites Bobby Anderson, Dale Argraves, Milo Haney, Derek Finnemore and many others make their return to the speedway. We will be featuring a 50 lap Outlaw Sportsman Race to see how Connor Thibeau and Glenn Rasmussen battle it out with the returning racers as they have all worked hard on their cars over the winter. Last year it was anyone's race to win and the excitement is sure to be even better this season. The Aroostook Savings & Loan Street Stocks look to have a much better field of cars as we expect double digit car counts for the first time in years. We also added a few new items to the snack shack for all to enjoy! Great food, great side by side racing, and a great family experience right here in the County all for $5.00 a person!

Thursday on Sweden this Week!

last updated on 6/8/2014

Racers please be sure to remember that this Thursday night is our first event for the track in Caribou on Sweden Street. We will need all race cars to line up at Skyway Plaza by no later than 5:30 for a parade at 5:45 to go downtown to the post office and park your cars for the car show. We will be judging for the best looking car awards. The parade will be a non walking event. You may drive your race car or trailer it. This will be a great way to show off your hard work and effort from this winter. It is also a great way to show off your sponsors and remember it is worth 50 points towards the championship just for your participation. This will be a night to help spread the word to everyone what you all do at the track each and every week. We will support a few charities, have a pit stop challenge, go kart demonstrations, live music with the Rik Reese Band, RC Demonstrations and much more! Please help us kick off the 50th season in a way all will remember!
